No peace comes
I lay here
Head thumping
Mind churning
Wanting to know
Why

Is my destiny fulfilled
Do I fade away
Or soar

What happpens next
Is my only question
Out of hundreds

I could push it away
Fill my mind
With empty thoughts

Loud enough to drown out the hubbub
Large enough to block the pain
Safe enough to ease the worry

No big thoughts tonight
Just sleep
Please, sleep

Yet I know it's not there

So, instead I try to make sense
